Description:
US Infantry Khaki Green is a subdued olive-tan with earthy green and khaki undertones, carefully matched to U.S. military field gear and uniforms issued during the late WWII period and continuing through the Vietnam War. This tone reflects the transitional color between early khaki and later olive drab, capturing the faded utility fabrics and canvas used across multiple theaters.
US Infantry Khaki Tan is in our set Item #29444 U.S. Army Armor & Infantry WWI to Vietnam and the Item #29503 US Military Acrylic Paint Set, 81 pieces.
Color Description:
US Infantry Khaki Green is a muted, dusty green-beige that replicates the color of utility garments like the M1943 field jacket and OG-107 fatigues. Its natural, low-saturation tone is representative of worn and sun-faded gear across decades of service. It’s especially suited for uniforms and canvas in transitional environments, such as North Africa, Korea, and Southeast Asia.
This color was widely used in the US Infantry from the 1940s through the 1970s.
• In WWII, it appeared in the late-war M1943 field jackets, canvas ponchos, and web gear, particularly in the European Theater.
• In the Korean War, it was commonly used for herringbone twill (HBT) fatigues and heavy outerwear for variable climates.
• In the Vietnam War, Khaki Green was found on jungle fatigues, helmet covers, and duffel bags, particularly in early deployments and non-camouflaged gear.
Modeling Uses:
• Paint utility uniforms, HBT fatigues, and field jackets with historical accuracy
• Ideal for soft gear like ponchos, duffel bags, canteens, and stowage packs
• Useful for highlighting variation in unit appearance during supply transitions
• Combine with Olive Drab, Buff, and Flat Brown to build depth and realistic wear patterns
