Every Sherline Milling Machine includes a high-torque DC motor with variable speed control which automatically adjusts between inputs of 100VAC to 240VAC, 50-60 Hz, without loss of torque; a 2.75" (70 mm) x 13.0" (330 mm) table with two T-slots; pulleys; drive belt; 3 hex keys; tommy bars; oilers; lead screw cover and a gib removal tool. 5400, 2000, and 5800 Series Mills include deluxe adjustable "zero" handwheels calibrated in .001" increments and a 1/4" drill chuck. Sherline 5400 Series Deluxe Vertical Mill features include: A powerful 90VDC motor with electronic speed controller; laser-engraved 12" (305 mm) solid aluminum base for 2" of additional Y-axis travel; laser-engraved scales on the table and base, 2-1/2" (63 mm) adjustable "zero" handwheel on the Z-axis and 2" (51 mm) adjustable "zero" handwheels on the X- and Y-axes; a mill headstock spacer to provide more throat distance and a 1/4" drill chuck and drawbolt. Sherline 4400 Series 3.5" x 17" Lathe features include: A high-torque 90VDC motor with variable speed control which is internally equipped with a converter that automatically adjusts to incoming AC current from 100 to 240 volts, 50 or 60 cycles/sec without loss of torque; 24" (610 mm) bed that has 17" (431 mm) between centers; 2.5" (63 mm) resettable "zero" handwheel on the leadscrew, plus two deluxe 2" (51 mm) resettable "zero" handwheels on the feed screw and crosslide; 2.75" (70 mm) x 6.0" (152 mm) crosslide with two T-slots; rocker tool post in place of standard type; two position pulleys; Kevlar reinforced drive belt and adjustable anti-backlash. Standard equipment includes: faceplate, lathe dog, 2 dead centers, pre-sharpened high-speed steel r/h cutting tool, tommy bar, gib removal tool, hex adjustment keys and 56-page color assembly and instruction guide. Because the tool turns rather than the work, much larger non-round parts can be worked on a mill. The longer X-axis table (side-to-side) throw also increases the machine's versatility over that of the lathe. In addition to the basic three axes of movement, known as the "X" (left/right), "Y" (in/out) and "Z" spindle (up/down) axes, Sherline Mills also offer a headstock that can be tilted to either side to mill angled surfaces. The Model 2000 Mill offers four additional directions of adjustment, while the Model 5800 NexGen Mill offers three additional directions of adjustment for those who wish the ultimate in flexibility.
