The USS Constitution is a wooden-hulled, three-masted heavy frigate of the United States Navy, named by President George Washington after the United States Constitution. She is the world's oldest commissioned naval vessel afloat. The Constitution was launched in 1797 and saw active duty in the Quasi-War with France and the Barbary Wars. She is most famous for her actions during the War of 1812 against the United Kingdom, when she captured numerous merchant ships and defeated the HMS Guerriere, earning her the nickname "Old Ironsides". The ship was retired from active service in 1881, but continued to serve as a training ship until being designated a museum ship in 1907.

She sailed under her own power on her 200th birthday in 1997, and sailed again in 2012 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the victory over Guerriere. The USS Constitution is usually docked at Pier 1 of the former Charlestown Navy Yard at Boston's Freedom Trail.

There is no specific ship in history called the "Buccaneer Caribbean," but the term "buccaneer" was used to refer to pirates who operated in the Caribbean during the 17th century. The kit likely represents a fictional or composite design based on typical pirate ships of that era. Pirate ships of the time were often smaller and more maneuverable than the larger naval vessels of the day, allowing them to chase down and board their prey. They were typically armed with cannons and small arms and often carried a crew of around 100 men.

In the 17th and 18th centuries, the history of piracy was one of fabulous treasures and great deeds. Pirates and buccaneers will be remembered as the "kings of the sea." Geographically, they operated mainly in the Caribbean area, the trade route between America and Europe. While the pirates stole merchant ships and assailed coastal towns to enrich themselves, the buccaneers engaged in smuggling, capture of small merchants, and the slave trade.
