Hunterline's Dark Brown Weathering Mix is alcohol based. The benefits of using an alcohol based stain is fast drying times; which helps prevent ˜warping" of the wood, and it's easy to dilute the mix for varying degrees of the color. A bottle of common 70% isopropyl alcohol is all you need! Works just as well on plastic, paper, cardboard or hydrocal and cleans up with simple soap and water.
