Modeler's Chisel Removes Plastic Details You Don't Want

Upgrade plastic models by removing unsightly, out-of-scale molded-in details sometimes included by manufacturers. The hand-ground 4 mm wide cutting edge easily removes unwanted details and the sturdy, non-slip handle gives you precise control over cutting force. Made exclusively for Micro-Mark of polished, surgical-quality stainless steel, this chisel is also useful for mini woodworking projects. Approx. 6-1/2” long.

Note: If desired, the outer edges of the chisel may be rounded slightly with fine sandpaper or a honing stone to prevent gouging of surfaces in surrounding areas.

Great tool for removing detail.

This chisel has MASS! It is therefore easy to drive into plastic details. You still have to remove a little at at time, but the control is much better than an X-ACTO chisel blade (which is way too wide anyway). It is possible to get right down to the base surface with practice. You can gouge with the edges but practice and being careful will minimize that. Only drawback is the heavily knurled handle which irritates a spot on my middle finger. A small piece of duct tape at that position fixes that. Really like this tool.

Great tool!

Good quality foam clay

Unlike any air dry clay I've used .
Very easy to manipulate , doesn't stick to your fingers .
Can be made into paper thin sheets that hold their shape .

Thick sections will take well over 24 hours to dry out ; high water weight when fresh .
Evaporation slows down considerably once the outer " crust " dries on thick pieces .

After 24 hours @ 78 degrees and about 60% humidity , the 3.1 gram sample I experimented with weighs 1.2 grams .
.. and after 48 hrs weighs just 1/2 gram ,, and I don't think it's fully dry yet .

Definitely worth the price .
Very versatile .

My only complaint is the bag it comes in .
It is a zipper lock bag but you need to remove a fair amount of the product before you'll be able to engage the zipper .
It's stuffed full when new .
I fit the bag into a plastic container ( Folgers coffee 43.5oz can ) with an inch of water at the bottom to ensure it doesn't dry out until I use enough to be able to close the bag .
Most likely keep it in that can regardless , just to be safe .

Quality miniature model paint

This stuff is comparable to Vallejo paints which everyone in the hobby already knows are tried and true. I honestly would not be able to tell the difference between the 2 brands looking at a finished model or trying to paint with it. The price is about the same but this includes slightly bigger bottles with a better design on the lid and seem to come with a plastic mixer ball already inside but its hard to tell for sure. This paint set also includes a paint thinner and cleaner for airbrushing. Its really hard to beat the price and value of this paint set for anyone wanting to have a quality paint job on something. I would say its near impossible.
