The Louis XIV Cannon was a consummate weapon of war developed in the 18th Century and used through the Revolutionary War. This well-constructed model harnesses the age-old power of the King’s artillery in miniature at 11 x 5.5 x 3 inches. Handmade from metal, with the appearance of blackened iron on the barrel and the rim of the wheels, its detail is fine and accurate to the original. It emanates grandeur, and is ideal for display in an office or home study.

Louis XIV, known for posterity as the Sun King and the Great Monarch, was the greatest king France would ever have. He was a political and military genius who led France to victory through the Dutch War, the War of the Grand Alliance, and the War of the Spanish Succession. Under his long reign, the French artillery flourished and enjoyed supreme power. Unlike the King’s cannons however, which were inscribed with the words “ultima ratio regum” or “the final argument of kings”, this model cannon is for decorative use only.

Great tool!

Good quality foam clay

Unlike any air dry clay I've used .
Very easy to manipulate , doesn't stick to your fingers .
Can be made into paper thin sheets that hold their shape .

Thick sections will take well over 24 hours to dry out ; high water weight when fresh .
Evaporation slows down considerably once the outer " crust " dries on thick pieces .

After 24 hours @ 78 degrees and about 60% humidity , the 3.1 gram sample I experimented with weighs 1.2 grams .
.. and after 48 hrs weighs just 1/2 gram ,, and I don't think it's fully dry yet .

Definitely worth the price .
Very versatile .

My only complaint is the bag it comes in .
It is a zipper lock bag but you need to remove a fair amount of the product before you'll be able to engage the zipper .
It's stuffed full when new .
I fit the bag into a plastic container ( Folgers coffee 43.5oz can ) with an inch of water at the bottom to ensure it doesn't dry out until I use enough to be able to close the bag .
Most likely keep it in that can regardless , just to be safe .
