Shimikaze was literally one of a kind. This fast, heavily armed destroyer was Japan's test bed for a new type of propulsion system. Its steam turbine engines propelled it to 47 mph in test runs despite it carrying twice the guns.
Hasegawa brings you their kit of the Imperial Japanese Navy Destroyer Shimikaze, performing an escort mission for the Second Fleet during the Battle of the Philippine Sea in June of 1944.
