The jaws of our Micro-Mark Spreading Pliers are notched along their exterior in stepped pairs. Place the wire or ring of metal in the appropriate notch that matches the item's present size, and squeeze the handle. The item can now be spread open to a preferred diameter. The further down the jaw the item is placed, the more force that can be applied to the spreading action. Step sizes from tip to base are: 3/16", 7/32", 21/64" and 25/64". When fully opened, the stepped tips spread to 7/8" and the lowest notch spreads to nearly 3/4". Plier includes a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects. Perfect for jewelry, circlip application, metal O-rings, etc.
