The USS Constitution is a wooden-hulled, three-masted heavy frigate of the United States Navy, named by President George Washington after the United States Constitution. She is the world's oldest commissioned naval vessel afloat. The Constitution was launched in 1797 and saw active duty in the Quasi-War with France and the Barbary Wars. She is most famous for her actions during the War of 1812 against the United Kingdom, when she captured numerous merchant ships and defeated the HMS Guerriere, earning her the nickname "Old Ironsides". The ship was retired from active service in 1881, but continued to serve as a training ship until being designated a museum ship in 1907.
She sailed under her own power on her 200th birthday in 1997, and sailed again in 2012 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the victory over Guerriere. The USS Constitution is usually docked at Pier 1 of the former Charlestown Navy Yard at Boston's Freedom Trail.

The Albatross started as a pilot ship out of Amsterdam, Netherlands in 1920. It later served as a radio ship for the Germans in World War II. In 1951, the vessel was acquired by a couple in Connecticut. The used it as a “Sailing Academy” and taught up to 13 students with hands on training. In 1961, the ship sank off the cost of Florida and all but one perished. The accident caused the US Coast Guard to re-write sailing codes. It is said that the vessel was top heavy which caused the sinking.

The USN Picket Boat #1 was a steam launch assigned to the Union Navy during the American Civil War. It was used for reconnaissance, and during the Battle of New Orleans, it assisted in the capture of five Confederate gunboats. The boat was originally built by James Eads and named Eads' Gunboat, but it was later transferred to the Union Navy and renamed Picket Boat #1. The boat was armed with a 12-pound howitzer and two 24-pound howitzers.
The Union's 45-foot long steam-powered Picket Boat Number One sank the Confederate ironclad Albemarle in 1864.

In 1821, the Virginia set a record for the fastest transatlantic voyage from Liverpool, England to New York, completing the journey in just 22 days. The ship was later captured by the British during the War of 1812 and was eventually sold to a British owner.
A replica of the Virginia was built in 2005. It is rumored to be for sale.
