Description
Air Signal Green delivers the same bold, utility-based green as the brush version (Item #29374), but in a ready-to-airbrush formulation that ensures even coats and minimal clogging. This medium-dark green is perfect for modelers detailing railway signal boxes, utility panels, control housings, and trackside equipment. Its slightly muted tone replicates the weathered enamel paints used by American railroads throughout the 20th century.
Color Description
A slightly desaturated green with a matte-to-satin finish, this color mimics the practical and durable look of outdoor-painted equipment. It provides excellent contrast with Engine Black and industrial yellows, making it ideal for both modern and historical modeling projects.
The History of Signal Green
Green has been a key visual signal in railroad operations since the 19th century, eventually becoming the universal “go” or “clear” color in light-based signaling systems. In addition to light signals, railroads adopted green paint for cabinets, panels, and gear housings to standardize appearance and designate active control equipment.
Throughout the 20th century, signal green paint became a hallmark of rail safety equipment, typically applied in gloss enamel that aged into a matte finish—exactly what this airbrush-ready paint captures.

Tip
Spray at 15–25 PSI. For a realistic aged effect, apply a light brown wash or drybrush with Depot Buff or Dust Gray to simulate sun-fade and dirt. Use masking tape to create crisp color breaks between Signal Green panels and black housings.
Tip: For best results, use at 15–25 psi. No additional thinning is required, but compatible with Micro-Mark Acrylic Airbrush Thinner if needed for custom blending.
