Description
Ghost Gray is a standard modern camouflage tone used by the U.S. Air Force and Navy in low-visibility tactical schemes. Developed during the Cold War and still in use today, it offers optimal concealment at high altitude and overcast conditions. This cool gray-blue tone is a staple for modern fighter jets and provides a realistic finish for modeling aircraft in service from the 1980s through today.

Color Description
Ghost Gray is a medium cool gray with faint blue undertones, corresponding to FS 36375 or FS 36320 depending on the variation. It was designed to break up aircraft silhouettes and reduce detection against both sky and terrain backgrounds. In model applications, it provides a muted yet clean finish that responds well to panel lining, weathering, and detail washes.
This color has been widely used since the late 1970s:
