Trumpeter USS Midway CV-41 Plastic Model Kit, 1/350 Scale

The USS Midway began construction in 1943 and entered service a month after its launch in 1945. It was the first U.S. warship to bear the name of Midway, the CV-41, to commemorate the famous naval battle that turned the tide of the Pacific War. The Midway participated in a number of military operations, including the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Iranian hostage crisis, and the Gulf War, and was decommissioned in 1992 and stricken from the Naval Vessel Register in 1997. In 2003, it was converted into a museum ship in San Diego.
